Two and a half weeks ago, we set out to potty train two children at once. Two hours later, I set out on a mission to train one child. Never start potty training with only six pair of underwear for two children; a good recipe for failure! Conlin was not meant to be potty trained at this time, but I will try again later. Alina on the other hand has celebrated her first day of dryness (2/28/07)! Yea, Alina! We are working towards day two. I am quite pleased to be on our way and I am sure we will have many failures, but I think she does get the concept and is quite pleased with herself when she goes in the potty. We do have a porta-van potty and it has been used once. So our next big step is getting her to tell me when she has to go instead of me taking her every 1/2 or full hour and then it will be time for public without a training pant, but real undies. I can honestly say that I do not like this part of parenting, but do find it highly rewarding when success is achieved.
