Second Haircut
Another quick annecdote: We have a few CDs full of children's bible songs that we often listen to in the car and the kids love them. Tonight we were on the way to the evening service at our church and for the first time we had a specific request, instead of just "more!" Conlin said something that Shawna and I both found to be unintelligible at first. Then Alina repeated the exact same unintelligible phrase. After having heard it several times from each, we finally deciphered it to be "Praise yea the Lord!" (As in "Allelu, Allelu, Allelu, Alleluiah, Praise yea the Lord!") They almost always raise their hands on the "Praise yea the Lord" part (in leiu of standing up since they are buckled in.)
Ok, one more quick story: The kids are absorbing more than I realized. I was trying to get the kids to sing some of the songs they have been hearing from us, so here is a reinactment of a time in the van when I tried this for the first time.
Me: OK, now say "Jesus"
Them: Jesus
Me: say "Loves me"
Them: Loves me
Me: say "This I know"
Them: This I know
Me: good, now say "for the"
Them:Bible!
Me: Great! now say "tells me"
Them: So!
