Can you say Index of Refraction
Tonight, Alina and Conlin were learning (without realizing it) about some of the properties of light. For example, the index of refraction of the plastic bottle and the fluid in the bottle which was causing the light which was reflecting off of our faces and passing through these media to bend causing the image produced to be distorted and somewhat attenuated. In other words we were stretching and squashing our faces by looking through the shampoo bottle.
Another observance made tonight is how Conlin is becoming a little organizer. I had left the kids in ---m-'s room for a few moments and came back to find that Conlin had arranged the diapers from the diaper holder in a neat row. I noticed that a few may have been sorted by the character on the diaper, but I figured it was probably just the order they came out. That is until Shawna told me that he was outside playing with sidewalk chalk the other day and had taken all of the pieces of chalk and lined them up, grouped by size! (I think he is going to be a little more like his daddy than we thought.)
Only one more day until the arrival of ---m- --i----- McClaflin!
Addendum: Upon further examination of the diaper picture I observed the following:
Big Bird
Big Bird
Elmo
Elmo
Elmo
Ernie
Ernie
Grover
They are indeed sorted by character, but you might also notice they are in alphabetical order!
