BACKWOODS GRILL

When I first had the kids, Risha was in town and went down to Fairmont to say hi to some friends (after hanging out with us). She came back with a wonderful hooded sweat shirt from a friend that I went to school with, Mike Core. Apparently, Mike and his family opened a restaurant on Locust ave. called Backwoods Grill. Since that time I have not been able to thank him for his thoughtful gift. I felt the best way to thank him was to give him business. So, I made a date that I could go watch Fairmont State College Lady Falcons play a game and then go out for some "fine" dining. Last Monday was that few hour vacation that I got to take while the great grandparents wathced the kids. This freed me up to enjoy the evening with Dad and Terry. What a lovely dining experience! The Backwoods Grill has a friendly hometown atmosphere that is quite conducive to great conversation. The food was fantastic! Dad was quite impressed with the tuna and made me wish that I would have been adventurous and not ordered just a safe grilled chicken salad. I sampled his plate and found it to be quite tasty. You will especially enjoy such a wide variety of menu choices as well. It is filled with unique dishes that Mike said took much thought, it is not your average menu options. I also got to talk with Mike a little and thank him for a gift given a year ago. I would like to encourage everyone and anyone to try this restaurant and formulate your own opinion. If you find it as wonderful as I did then please pass it on to others!! It is fun to see people that you graduated with become successful in an area that they enjoy.
