River Trip

One of my dreams came true today (at least partially). I have wanted to take my family on a river trip all together for a long time. Today, we got someone to watch Ila for a couple of hours while the rest of us went down the river nearby. I towed a raft to my kayak so we had room for 4 or 5 kids (we only had three though). Alina rode in the raft for the whole trip and Niamh rode in my kayak cargo hatch for the whole trip. Conlin spent most of the time in Shawna's cargo hatch, but eventually jumped into the raft with Alina.

I think Alina was not to comfortable with moving around because she didn't do it much. Although she did like paddling with the extra paddles we have. When Conlin got in the raft though he was all over the place. He enjoyed pulling the rope connecting my kayak to their raft and "catching up" to me.

When we first got started I wobbled my boat too much, scaring Niamh. He cried for a few minutes but eventually calmed down. When he saw Conlin get in the raft, he said he wanted to too, but when it came time to make the transfer, he decided against it.

The trip only took about an hour and was well worth while. It went well enough that all agreed that we should try again.
