Doggy Encounter
With this week's events I got a little behind on posting the fun pictures I got last weekend. You see, last weekend I made a brave decision to take the kids by myself for a 3-4 hour drive to my Mom and Dad's house. The trips there and back went quite well, even though I didn't have my
usual co-pilot along................We interrupt this story to bring you a Conlin update..... Conlin is recovering very well. He is still eating well, has pooped (I'm sure your excited, but it is very important after a surgery), has begun to crawl around again and pull himself up to stand. In short, he has been acting quite himself. Tomorrow, his dressings should come off as they are to be remove on day 5. And now back to your regurlar blog posting...............
The kids have seen Sunny (mom and dad's dog) before, but they were a little more interested this time.
Conlin liked to try to get kisses from Sunny by opening his mouth and leaning toward him. That was nipped in the bud. Instead, he put out his hand and let Sunny lick it, and then instantly put it in his mouth. I think he likes the taste of doggy slobber. That too was nipped in the bud by grabbing his hand everytime he let Sunny lick it and washig it with a washcloth before he could put it in his mouth.Alina's favorite part of this doggy encounter was not so much the doggy as it was the "treats." Everytime she was allowed into the laundry room, she made a bee-line for the doggy treat bowl, opened it and reached her little arm deep inside to pull one out.
As you can see in the video, I did let her clamp down on it with her teeth once (or twice) in order to catch it on video, but I never let her actually eat one. :-)One last thing I would like to share is that today is my Birthday and I am so thankful for the gifts that God has given me; Alina and Conlin. This is the only birthday that I will ever have with Alina and Conlin being 1 year old. (I also got a Penguins Hockey Jersey fron Shawna, which is really nice, but just doesn't compare :-).

Speaking of Conlin giving kisses, I could tell in the last video of Conlin with Daddy that Conlin was trying to give Daddy a big open mouth kiss. Ruby does the same thing.
Hope you have a great birthday, Dane!
Belated happy birthday to you Dane! I am so glad to see and hear that Conlin is recovering nicely.
Thanks so much for sharing your kids with us!
Love,
Connie
