Church Picnic 2006

This weekend we went to our church's church picnic. (To find some tasty picinic baskets, eh, Boo Boo?) The house it was at was a great place for a picnic. The owners have all the equipment necessary for kids. They had bins full of toys, little picnic table, swing set, sand box, tree swing, a huge, flat, shaded yard, and a heated pool. The kids loved it. We did too. We got to chat with few people we had not gotten to know that well before and enjoyed it greatly. Here are a few pictures of the kids enjoying themselves. This was the first time we let the kids just sit at a table to eat without being pinned in a high chair or in someone's lap. They did rather well and seemed to enjoy it.

Conlin pushed this truck all over the yard, and after someone put him in the bed of it once, he continued to enjoy this feature.

In other news, Conlin has been randomly walking on his own. He will just let go of one thing, walk 3-5 steps to another with out missing a beat. Alina, however, still seems to thing she is made of glass and will not walk un assisted with out a lot of coaxing.

Also, they are both blinking, sticking out their tongues, and shaking their heads on command. They also will point out their ears, hair, toes, and noses when asked to (Conlin doesn't do nose and toes yet). Alina has started to say "up please" when she wants picked up instead of the arms-up-whine and Conlin just says "p" (the p-sound). They are both learning silverware usage well. They are beginning to stab stuff with a fork a little, and love to put their food in their mouths using a fork. Alina is beginning to get the hang of eating her cherios with a spoon and not dumping them on the way to her mouth.
