Conlin's unplanned event...

I want to first thank you all for your prayers for our son this past weekend. For those of you who are unaware of the events, I will quickly explain. Saturday 5/13/06 strange bump with slight increase in redness at sight of Conlin's hernia surgery noticed. 5/13 spoke with surgeon and told to watch because it is not of concern yet. Through the week of 5/15 to 5/18 this weird enlargement got slightly more tender for Conlin, but none of the red flags (fever, vomit, incresed fussiness, etc...) that we were told to watch for were occurring. Friday 5/19 evening bump is increasing in size and slight color change and decision made to visit ER on 5/20. All this time, Conlin was not demonstrating any signs that he might be in some form of distress or discomfort unless this bump was touched. He was smiling, playing, walking (mini-steps), getting into things he was not suppose to, etc. . . Planned visit to ER in the afternoon on Saturday, bump was now triple in size, a couple different colors, very tender. All of this warrenting a visit to the ER with xrays taken, ultrasound performed, palpation from many different doctors. This all led to the unplanned surgery on Saturday 5/20 night around 9 or 9:30. Results were that of an absess without any disruption to the prior site of hernia. We were told there would be at least a two day stay at the hospital, but the wonderful blessing of discharge occurred on Sunday afternoon 5/21 because he was doing so well. He has been sent home on some good antibiotic and an open wound that mom gets to care for. He is still doing well and we are quite pleased that all his care can just continue at home.

So please continue to pray for the healing of the infection and that I can properly take care of his wound site. We thank the Lord for all the peace that he has extended to our family over the past couple of days. Conlin has once again brought many together to help out and to pray leading to the ultimate Glorification of Our Lord and Savior.

I'm glad he is OK- poor guy! Walking!?!? What!!! No pictures, no videos? I can't believe he is walking after just getting the hang of standing. Is Alina walking without being asked yet?

Wow. That little guy sure has been through a lot. We're praying that things settle down soon for you guys. (At least as settled as life can get with twin toddlers!!). Glad to hear he is recovering quickly.

And I'm with Beth. No pictures of the walking??? :-)
